Summary
This week I learned about 'Computer - aid'. First, I know that what is CSCW.CSCW is computer - supported cooperative work. It is Field of
research and design.Researchers in this field investigate how people work together in groups, and design computer-systems and networks to
enable or facilitate group work.And , CSCW is considered to a part of a larger field known as CHI or HCI.Winograd and Flores present a
methodology for CSCW analysis and design.This methodology is commonly known as the “language/action” perspective.And then , we recall key point #2 -Technologies embody social, political, cultural, economic and philosophical ideas and relationships.We think about - we incorporate a network of recurrent conversations in a media technology? The answer from ethnomethodology is that it changes the conversations or social relations. So , key point is that Every digital media technology has an architecture that can be used to transform work, play and governance. For example The Social Logic of Space by Bill Hillier and Julienne
Hanson - This book presents a general theory of physical architecture influences social relationships.First we see ' a city plan from Hillier and Hanson' next we see the picture of the “social logic” of the city plan.We consider what is the architecture of cyberspace. Add to, we can see or know Agre's the surveillance model ,architectures of surveillance , the capture model & its relation to Winograd and Flores

Before the class , I have any idea of 'computer - aid' . So the lecture is some interesting.First , we watched the movie film - Modern times by Charlie Chaplin.I had not ever seen this film , so it is fun and marvelous to me. Although That is old film and That hasno conversation, It is funny. And I know CSCW is what. That is cooperative work.I think that cooperative work is so difficult.So , In computer - system, It is more difficult.But , these days, we can see many CSCW work. It looks difficult to me , but It is essential part for media.And we learnde every digital media technology has an architecture. It is interesting - especially structure of surveillance model.

Summary
This week we learned about Artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is 'the founding doucment'. First, we need to know 'Alan Turing'. He is founder of computer science artificial intelligence, mathematician, philosopher and codebreaker.If someone asked me why we need to know 'Alan Turing', because of his game -“imitation game” The “imitation game” is played with three people, a man, a women , and an interrogator who may be of either sex.And then , The interrogator stays in a room apart from the other two. The object of the game for the interrogator is to determine which of the other two is the man and which is the woman.artificial intelligence is defined that the science of making machines do things that would require intelligence as if done by humans. And also artificial intelligence is research areas.and add, planning as a technical problem.GPS is what is known in AI as a “planner.” (not global positioning system. it is a computer program for theorems proof, geometric problems and chess playing .To work, GPS required that a full and accurate model of the “state of the world” (i.e., insofar as one can even talk of a “world” of logic or cryptoarthimetic, two of the domains in which GPS solved problems) be encoded and then updated after any action was taken .

This week I learned abot social works. Before class, I have no idea of social networks.Just think we connected something else. In class, I know that is new media. So, Key point 1 is that new media technologies reinforce social networks or isolate people.First , I learned part1 " Social networks as science". At past, Social networks is the field of social science. But recently,physicists and mathematicians contributed to an understanding of social networks .And In network , some person have special position. If people A and B connect to the same people , they have equivalent positions in networks. If people A connect separate networks , A has bridging capital. And If people B is central to a network , B has bonding capital.Second " Social networks as technology"- email, weblogs. If I buy a book about IT, the recommender systems inform me another book which people who bought this book also bought. Third is the "social networks as popular culture". One example is 'bacon number'.Kevin bacon has number 0 and an actorA who appeard in a movie with bacon has number 1.And an actor B who appeard in a movie with A has bacon number 2. Another example is "Fixing" Google site - calld 'Google bombing'.The members of an online community know the trick of Google searches and can affect the results of that. Finally I learned "social networks as art". I can see the work of Mark Lombardi's Global Networks,Ben Discoe’s Friendster Map and Josh On 's They Rule etc.

Now days, we live in the technologies. Many technologies connect our relationship. But we cannot think that. Just use and enjoy. For example , In Korea , The Cyworld is very big social networks. Most of people have minihomepage and through minihome , they connect each other. At past , the social networks are analyzed socialists. Because that name has the word 'social'. But today, the new media is appeard. So 'Social networks ' is the field of science. I think the more and more technologies are appeard , the social networks are biger and biger. That is true. So far , we just can made relationships with other people at hometown or school etc. But today, we can connect people with weblog and we can share our own interest, hobby , and informations. The media become important source at social networks!!And some artist use the map of social networks. They just write the name of thier own relationships , and then that is one work. It may be seems to so simple to me, but the subject of some map is funny. I think that The social networks will become biger and biger. and also, the media is the cental of that!

WWW is very familiar instrument which we may use in Internet.If www isn't invented by tim berners-lee , nowday , we cannot share our idea and thinking . Especially for many scholar, they have tostudy each other because they do not study eachother , they can't develop thier ability. Then , www is so useful thing.When I use the Internet, I usually asked what is that? - http, html etc.In class, I can learn what that is. and I know that WWW has some aspect of art.Common knowledge , we may be think www is just a technology.I also think www can't has art form. But lisa jevbratt and mark napier have different think.They use www and express that some arts - 1:1 and shredder.I think that the www's range is so vast more than we may think.

This weekend we learnd about hypertext. First, we think what is media. and we know that new media do not replace old media.they just display old media. For example , Wepfile is show the contents of book.The focus of lecture is that Hypertext is One way that digital media has been understoodis as new forms of writing, reading and thinking.We see some datas and short movie files for 'cut-ups'.We learned Engelbart'work.In 1960s, He announced treatise -'augmenting human intellect'.In treatise, He suggest a computer that can communicate with humanand also can increase human intellect.So, he invented mouse , hypertext et. - nls demo.

When I Heared lectureI say only ' A-ha'. and I know that I have so little knowledge abot media yet.And we see some short movie files about 'cut-ups'.before the class, I have no idea of 'cut-ups'. First, The film is strange and do not familiar . But it is interesting.Because that is not a theory .
